The Insight Meditation Circle of Cape Cod
is open to all people interested in learning about the teachings of the Buddha on wisdom, compassion and mindfulness. We strive to reflect the diversity of the Cape in which we live. Our Sangha is a place where everyone of different ages, cultures, ethnicities, sexual orientations, gender identities, and spiritual backgrounds is welcome to begin or deepen meditation practice based on the teachings of the Buddha. IMCC is a just a concept and has no real meaning or existence without each of us living the practice both on and off the cushion. The character and culture of our community is made up of the people–each of us–who show up for each meeting and each virtual meditation session and has no substance outside of those activities.
And please keep in mind that when we meet together to discuss any topic, please be mindful of what we call right speech. We must be committed to the idea that the ideas expressed are solely our own, that we’re not speaking on behalf of other people or even the Buddha, that our comments be respectful, timely, truthful, and helpful. If you want to say something that doesn’t conform to those guidelines, please keep it to yourself and reflect on what your ‘wise’ intention might be.
Would you be interested in a weekly or bi-weekly virtual meeting of IMCC?
We would love to have a virtual meeting of our group on a night other than Tuesday, perhaps once or twice a month. Would you be interested in taking the lead in setting it up, scheduling facilitators, and hosting? If you would, please let one of the Guiding Council members know of your interest so we can discuss it further. Thank you!
We also do an online morning meditation every Tuesday and Thursday morning at 7 AM sharp. Join using the regular Zoom link.
